Gilded Furniture

I ran across this photo the other day from blogger KathySue over at Good Life of Design– and it stopped me in my tracks.

How many times have you been in a thrift or antique store and seen those marble top tables with cherry wood legs?  And how many times have you passed them up?  I know I have.

I think with a little touch of gold leaf you could turn these into a real statement piece.

You could do something as simple as a thrift store chair like this one from Brittany Makes:

You can see her tutorial HERE– its amazing.

So next time your at a thrift store or better yet- at your grannies house-grab one of these babies and get to gilding!
