Some of the breathtaking spaces Nina has created:
ACI: When did you know that Interior Design was your passion?
NM: I discovered that interior design was my passion at the age of 22 when I realized that it is just as important to live in beautiful spaces, as it is to wear beautiful clothing. I’m very passionate about transforming my clients’ homes into a true representation of their personalities and styles and believe it is important for us all to “Live Stylish.”
ACI: Where do you find your inspiration?
NM: From the wonderful world of Fashion. Whether it be Emilio Pucci or Tom Ford, interiors can truly be inspired by great fashion icons and the clothing that they represent. Looking into the past and understanding various iconic design styles and what those styles symbolize, one can also find great inspiration.
ACI: What is your favorite book/magazine on design? How about your favorite website?
NM: My favorite magazine is Interior Design magazine and my favorite website is www.Archiproducts.com.
ACI: What is the most frustrating aspect of your job as a designer? And the most rewarding one?
NM: The most frustrating aspect of my job is designing for clients who have unrealistic time frames for their projects. The most rewarding is seeing the clients’ faces when they first walk into their re-designed space and knowing that I made an impact in their lives through my work.
ACI: What decorating techniques/ideas/projects would you recommend to a homeowner who wants a quick update to their space?
NM: When redesigning a home, I think new paint is an easy and inexpensive way to update a look. Wallpaper is also a great way to add character to a space if painting is not an option.
ACI: What’s something you should never skimp on when decorating your home?
NM: ACCESSORIES & PERSONAL TOUCHES!!!! Afterall, personal touches are what make a house a home.
ACI: What’s your favorite color combination lately?
NM: I love Grey! Grey is my new neutral as it is bold yet comfortable. With grey, I adore mustard, a deep plum or even a light shade of blue hues as accents to the space, whether it be a wall or decorations.
ACI: What is your most cherished possession?
NM: My most cherished possession is a beautiful, heavily engraved real silver pot that I received from my grandparents for my wedding.
ACI: What would your dream project be?
NM: To fully design a boutique hotel including an upscale restaurant in Las Vegas or Miami from start to finish!
