Color Smitten- Navy

Navy Blue-  is associated with the darker shades of blue, navy conveys importance, confidence, power, and authority as well as intelligence, stability, unity, and conservatism. Like black it carries a sense of elegance, sophistication. ———via:

Navy blue is just one of those colors I never tire of.  It’s classic, fresh, and sophisticated.  Pair it with gold finishes for an elegant traditional look or with silver finishes for more of a modern feel.

Thibaut has a new collection with Anna French and the navy color way does not disappoint.

Designer Timothy Corrigan recently launched his new fabric line with Schumacher also in a Navy color way.

My favorite is the navy leopard!  This photo does not do it justice!  It’s so rich & velvety in person. I may or may not have petted it when I visited the showroom recently.  I actually tend to do that a lot with fabrics.  I can’t help it I’m a tactile girl.

One of my favorite go-to trim sources is Samuel & Sons– these gorgeous tapes all in navy are perfect for the leading edge of drapery or for an accent on pillows.

We are incorporating a lot of navy in one of our recent client projects.  I Love how well it pairs with the grasscloth wall covering and sisal rug. Im thinking we will go with the warm gold finishes on this one.

How about you are you a Navy lover? or do you prefer a softer shade of blue?

Several years ago I found a cute antique table that I wanted to convert into a vanity for our guest bathroom. I painted it Navy & I loved it. So much that I now have some Navy in every room.
