Master Bedroom Before & After

Hello friends & happy Summer!  How is it already July?! It has been a while since I’ve blogged about our projects and I’m hoping to get back to sharing more updates on all the projects we are working on this Summer.  Today I wanted to share a project we finished late last year.  Our clients wanted a serene and sophisticated master bedroom, they had purchased the upholstered bed but were at a loss with what to do next.

We wanted to keep the overall palette neutral with splashes of soft sea glass green.  The clients have two small children so we knew kid friendly fabrics were a must.  And “kid friendly” does not have to mean microfiber *shudder*.

To address the windows we decided on simple panels for the center window with the Mary McDonald trim from Schumacher. For the two flanking windows we added custom cornice boards to compliment the drapery.

We created a custom bench for the foot of the bed.  The lucite legs add a little drama and glamour and the kid friendly velvet add durability. We also created a seating area where they could sit with a cup of morning coffee or read to the kids before bedtime, again using a kid friendly fabric.

Here is the rendering we presented to our clients and as you will see from the after photo the only thing we changed was the wall color.

I am always telling clients that having pets and kiddos does not mean you have to sacrifice beauty.  I’d say this space demonstrates that!
